The Institute iTEAM of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia participates with TELNET REDES INTELIGENTES in project AOPEX (All Optical PON Extender). The main technological objective of this project is to study the technical and economic feasibility of a system of a regeneration system all optical 3R (re-amplification, re-shaping, re-timing) signal application in passive optical access networks Gigabit passive Optical Network (GPON). The study will determine whether it is technically and economically feasible, the replacement of the existing current solution, which uses electronic processing and if so will address the industrialization phase next year. Its realization has been positively resolved by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade (MITT) in the subprogram call Avanza Competitiveness (I + D + i) 2010.
The AOPEX project (TSI-020100-2010-755) has been funded by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade and the European Regional Development Fund within the National Plan for Scientific Research, Technological Innovation Development in 2008-2011.
