David Gomez-Barquero elected to Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting

Dr. David Gomez-Barquero, Senior Researcher (Ramon & Cajal Fellow) at the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Valéncia, has been recently elected to Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting. The journal covers the field of broadcast technology, including the production, distribution, transmission, and propagation aspects of broadcasting.

Dr. Gomez-Barquero is also Senior Member of the IEEE, member of the IEEE Broadcast Technology Society (BTS), Technical Program co-chair of the IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting (BMSB), and board member of the IEEE BTS Spain Chapter. To date, he has over 150 publications with almost 1000 citations, including 24 journal articles in the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, and his publication H-index is 17. He is also a guest editor of the special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting on the next-generation U.S. digital terrestrial television system ATSC 3.0, to be published in March 2016.

His current research lines are focused on next generation cellular and digital television broadcast technologies, and he is the principal investigator of the research project “Extra-Terrestrial Digital Broadcast Technologies (E.T.
