Guillermo Fernán Lara Martinez
G. Lara received the titles of Engineer and Doctor in Telecommunications from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in 2009 and 2016, respectively. Its activity is focused on signal processing applied to underwater acoustics, combining technical work, such as the creation of a system for recording and processing underwater signals called SAMARUC, with research work, designing Machine Learning algorithms focused on the modeling of audio production mechanisms, as well as the extraction of characteristics that allow discerning between the different sounds that coexist in the field of Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM). He has participated in several projects carrying out these tasks, in fact, he is currently working for a European project (QuietMED) in charge of adapting the European Framework Directive of mandatory compliance for the control of the Good Environmental Status, of seas and oceans to the Mediterranean Sea. The researcher has published in prestigious journals indexed in his sector with high JCR, such as the "Journal of the Acoustical Society of America" and the IEEE "Transaction on Ultrasonics Ferroelectrics & Frequency Control" among others, also receiving several awards associated with their business activity, as StartUPV University Entrepreneur: Business Project Modality, in December 2017 and PhD Modality in November 2016.
