Sergio Castelló Palacios received the master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the School of Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2015. He is currently pursuing the PhD degree with the Centre for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering (CBIT) and the Mobile Communications Group (MCG) of the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM). His research interests include dielectric characterisation, polymer degradation analysis, and hydrogel synthesis with controlled swelling. His thesis is focused on developing tissue-equivalent materials (phantoms) in order to test microwave technologies, mainly antennas which use human body as a transmission medium. Therefore, it becomes possible to design the future wireless body area networks without human or animal testing.
