iTEAM researcher Jaime Sánchez receives the Young Technology Talent of the Year Award from EBU.

The annual ‘Young Technology Talent of the Year Award’ honours an outstanding innovation in media technology or new genuine concepts contributing to public service media.

Jaime Sánchez Roldán (27) is part of the iTEAM Mobile Communications Group and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has awarded him for his work carried out in the 5G – Media Action Group (5G-MAG), the association that favors the cooperation between the media and the communication and information industries.

In his work at 5G-MAG, the young researcher has developed an Open Source LTE-based 5G Broadcast Platform which has contributed to the advance of 5G Broadcast technology both in Spain and in Europe. The platform stands out for being open source and using software-defined radio equipment, which has allowed the development of a versatile and flexible platform compared to traditional dedicated equipment.
