The ONE6G Summit 2025 took place in Bologna (Italy), bringing together industry and academic experts to discuss the advances, challenges, and opportunities that will shape the path toward 6G.
Narcís Cardona, Full Professor and leader of the Mobile Communications Group (MCG) of iTEAM at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and Vice-Chair of one6G, moderated the session Industry Perspective on 6G, where leaders from Huawei, DOCOMO, NGMN, and Rohde & Schwarz discussed the challenges and opportunities that will define the future of telecommunications.
In addition, MCG researchers presented a groundbreaking demo based on a real-time radio channel sounding system using commercial FMCW sensors. This solution enables the measurement and visualization of monostatic and bistatic channels, allows interaction with scatterers, and provides real-time analysis of mobile and complex scenarios (including drone-based platforms) offering key tools for the development of 6G communications.
The ability to perform these measurements paves the way for studying the physical layer in environments that have so far been difficult to explore, which are fundamental for the advancement of emerging technologies on the road to 6G.
