The Innovation Unit of iTEAM recently organized an informative session on the TRL-UP and SPIN-UPV programs, two strategic initiatives of the Knowledge Transfer Office of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) aimed at promoting knowledge transfer, research results valorization, and the creation of technology-based companies.
The event featured the participation of Cristina Alemany Lázaro, Senior Technician at the Service for the Promotion and Support of Research, Innovation and Transfer, i2T-UPV; Irene Jiménez Arribas, R&D Technician at CPI the UPV Science Park and Gloria Micó, Postdoctoral Researcher at iTEAM and promoter of HYBPIC, who shared her experience as a success story with the spin-off HYBPIC.
During the session, Cristina Alemany presented the TRL-UP program, designed to boost scientific and technological results through legal protection and progress along the TRL scale, positioning them in optimal conditions for future market transfer. Meanwhile, Irene Jiménez introduced the key aspects of SPIN-UPV, an initiative that encourages the creation of spin-offs based on research results with real market potential, offering training, mentoring, and new legal advisory vouchers for spin-offs.
The session proved to be highly enriching, allowing attendees to gain a close understanding of the tools that the UPV provides to its research groups to transform knowledge into real innovation and entrepreneurship.
