iTEAM at the 11th Telecommunications Studies Promotion Conference (JFET)

Valencia became, for three days, a meeting point for the future of Telecommunications Engineering in Spain. The 11th edition of the Telecommunications Studies Promotion Conference (JFET), held at ETSIT–UPV, gathered first- and second-year students from across the country with one shared purpose: to discover research not as something distant, but as something tangible, possible, and inspiring.

From Vigo to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, from Barcelona to Málaga, passing through Cuenca, Extremadura, Cantabria, Cartagena, Madrid and many more cities, students from more than a dozen universities converged in Valencia.

In this edition, five PhD researchers from iTEAM took part by delivering research talks specifically designed for early-year students. The sessions combined scientific rigor with accessibility, explaining their research lines while also sharing the personal journey behind a PhD. Representing iTEAM, PhD students from different research groups participated: Lucas Banchero from GTAC; Gorka Casasus from APL; Bibiana Parreño from GAM; Raúl López from PRL; and Jaime Sánchez from MCG.

JFET 2026 was not only a conference, it was a reminder that telecommunications connect far more than devices. They connect people, vocations and futures. Thank you to all participants, and especially to DE-ETSIT-UPV and CEET, for building this fascinating meeting point for the next generation of engineers.
