The iTEAM hosted the talk “Efficient Numerical Simulation for Advanced Antenna Systems: Enabling Fast and Accurate Performance Prediction”, organized by APL and delivered by Dr. Marta Martínez-Vázquez.
The speaker, an international reference in antennas and RF systems, addressed the current challenges in the design of advanced antennas across sectors such as communications, automotive, aerospace, and defence, where system size and interaction with the surrounding environment make traditional full-wave electromagnetic simulations highly time- and resource-intensive. In this context, she explained how efficient simulation methods can maintain full-wave accuracy while drastically reducing computation time, enabling the design and optimization of complex systems.
During the session, she highlighted the concept of the Antenna Digital Twin (ADT), which allows the antenna’s behaviour to be reproduced quickly and accurately in different environments without the need to model its full geometry.
