The team led by Prof. José Capmany has developed a reprogrammable photonic chip capable of operating at high speed without requiring a continuous power supply. The results, published in Nature Photonics, represent an important step forward for programmable integrated photonics, with potential applications in 6G communications, data centres, artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.
Congratulations to José Capmany, Cristina Catalá Lahoz and the entire PRL–iTEAM team involved in this work.
Thank you, Ramón Ferrando, for bringing this scientific development to a wider audience.
