Christian Antoñanzas received the degree in Sound Technician from the ESCIVI in Andoain (Guipúzcoa) in 2005. He received the degree in Technical Telecommunications Engineering, specialising in Sound and Image from the Public University of Navarre in 2009. In the next year, he cursed a Master Degree in Acoustic Engineer in the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). Besides, in 2011 he takes a Specialization Course in Business Consulting in the Public University of Navarre doing the practicum in IECISA. For 2 years he has been working as an Acoustic Engineer in privates companies of the audiovisual sector until in June he joined to the Audio and Communications Signal Processing Group at iTEAM as research technical for DisCoSound project thanks to a PhD grant from the Ministry of Research, Development and Innovation. His research is focused on the study of distributed adaptive algorithms to develop multi-channel sound control systems. | |||

Luis was born in Elche, Spain, in 1988. He received the B.Sc degree in Physics in 2012, and the M.Sc degree in Advanced Physics (specialty on Photonics) in 2013, both at the Universitat de València, Valencia, Spain. Luis is currently a Ph.D student in the Photonic IC group at the Photonics Research Labs, and focuses his research on Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry (OFDR) based interferometric tecniques in the context of photonic integrated circuits. This method constitutes a powerful tool to fully characterize photonic integrated devices. His research interests expands also to Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Information, having kept an active research collaboration with Non-linear and Quantum Optics group at University of Valencia on ‘quantum walks’ topic from 2013 to date. | |||

Julián S. Bruno was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1979. He received the Electronics Engineering degree from the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN), Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2007, and the M.Sc. degree in Electronics Systems Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Valencia, Spain, in 2013. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D degree in Electronics Systems Engineering at UPV. Since 2009, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Electronics Engineering Department, UTN. His research interests include digital signal processing and the design of FPGA architectures for digital communications, especially on OFDM systems. | |||

Con Tobarra (Albacete) como origen, llegué a Valencia en 2015 para realizar el Máster en Ingeniería de Telecomunicación. Realicé mi Trabajo Fin de Máster sobre una metodología de segmentación semiautomática de médula espinal en pacientes de Esclerosis Múltiple a partir de imágenes de resonancia magnética. En el año 2017 obtuve una beca FPI la cual me permite actualmente formar parte del iTEAM y realizar mi tesis doctoral sobre un método de segmentación de médula espinal totalmente automático gracias a la inteligencia artificial y colaborar así con la diagnosis y evolución de la enfermedad anteriormente citada. | |||

Carlos Carceller was born in Villarreal, Spain, in 1986. He received an Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree in 2010 and a Máster Universitario en Tecnologías, Sistemas y Redes de Comunicación degree in 2012, both from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), Valencia, Spain. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications at the same institution. In 2009 he attended the University of Maryland (College Park MD, USA) thanks to the PROMOE (UPV) program, where he worked in the design of microwave filters in LTCC technology. In 2010 he joined the Grupo de Aplicaciones de Microondas where he currently develops software tools for the electromagnetic analysis of passive microwave components in waveguide technology. His current research interests include numerical methods in electromagnetics and its application to CAD tools for passive microwave devices. | |||

Sergio Castelló Palacios received the master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the School of Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2015. He is currently pursuing the PhD degree with the Centre for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering (CBIT) and the Mobile Communications Group (MCG) of the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM). His research interests include dielectric characterisation, polymer degradation analysis, and hydrogel synthesis with controlled swelling. His thesis is focused on developing tissue-equivalent materials (phantoms) in order to test microwave technologies, mainly antennas which use human body as a transmission medium. Therefore, it becomes possible to design the future wireless body area networks without human or animal testing. | |||

Alejandro Fornés Leal graduated in Telecommunication Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in 2014. During his last year of studies, he participated in some projects with the Mobile Communications Group (MCG) of the Institute for Telecommunication and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) as part of his engineering project and joined the group in December. Recently, he became a PhD student in the group. His research is focused on Body Area Networks (BAN) and on electromagnetic characteritzation of materials and human tissues. | |||

Pablo Gutierrez-Parera was born in Córdoba, Spain in 1982. He received a telecommunications engineer degree in 2008 from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. In 2010 and 2013 he obtained a M.S. degree in digital postproduction and a European graduate in telecommunication systems, sound and image engineering, both from the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia. Currently, he is a PhD grant holder from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness under the FPI program and is pursuing his PhD degree in telecommunications at the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) working in the field of spatial audio, both with speakers and binaural headphone listening. | |||

Paola Guzmán Castillo received her Electronic Engineering degree and the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), Bucaramanga, Colombia, in 2001 and 2005 respectively. From 2005 to 2006 she worked as a professor at UniNorte, Barranquilla, Colombia, from 2006 to 2010 at Universidad Santo Tomás and Universidad Industrial de Santander. Currently, she works as a technical support research in the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) at UPV, where she also is working towards the Ph.D. degree. Her current research interests include QoS, QoE for 3D video streaming and adaptative transport of 3D video over IP networks. | |||

Carlos Herranz Claveras eposee el título de Ingeniero Superior en Telecomunicación y un máster oficial en Tecnologías, Sistemas y Redes de Comunicaciones, ambos por la UPV. Desde 2011, pertenece al iTEAM de la UPV, donde desarrolla su trabajo profesional como investigador en redes de comunicaciones móviles. Actualmente se encuentra desarrollando su tesis doctoral bajo el tema de soluciones de beam tracking para usuarios en movilidad en sistemas móviles 5G en las bandas de centimétricas y milimétricas. Estas soluciones han sido implementadas y probadas en el módulo de milimétricas para el simulador de sistema ns-3, el cual aprendió a programar durante su estancia de 4 meses en el instituto NYU Wireless de Nueva York bajo la tutela del profesor Sundeep Rangan. Por otra parte, ha colaborado en el completo desarrollo de un visualizador de trazas de simulación en un motor de videojuegos dentro del ámbito del proyecto europeo METIS-II. Además, colaboró en el caso de uso para el visualizador de METIS-II acerca de road-safety en comunicaciones vehiculares 5G. | |||

In 2013, he joined the Photonics Research Labs as a researcher and was firstly involved in the FBGs sensors field. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in communications engineering at the PRL, supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation through an FPU (Formación de personal universitario) scholarship. In 2015 I obtained a BSc Degree in Telecommunications Engineering at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). After enjoying an exchange programme at the Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH), I came back to the UPM to study my MSc degree. I’m currently working on the End of Master Thesis. I’m also studying a BSc degree in Physics at the Spanish Distance Education University (UNED). I have recently started a PhD degree about integrated photonics, focusing on the design of an universal MWP programmable signal processor at the Photonics Research Labs of the Universitat Politècnica de València. My research interests mainly concern Quantum communication, Photonics and Information theory. My personal hobbies include (but are not limited to) theatre acting and directing, running and hiking. | |||

Jesús Ruiz Garnica nació en Tarragona, España, en 1986. Recibió el título de Ingeniero Técnico de Telecomunicación en 2012, el título de Graduado en Ingeniería de Sistemas de Telecomunicación, Sonido e Imagen en 2013 y el título de Máster Universitario en Tecnologías, Sistemas y Redes de Comunicaciones en 2014; todos ellos por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Está trabajando actualmente en la obtención del Doctorado en Telecomunicación en esta misma universidad. En 2014, obtuvo una beca formativa en el Consorcio Valenciano del Espacio (Val Space Consortium, VSC), en Valencia, España, dónde estuvo involucrado en el diseño de dispositivos pasivos de microondas para aplicaciones de alta potencia en comunicaciones vía satélite. Desde 2015 es técnico superior de investigación en el Instituto de Telecomunicaciones y Aplicaciones Multimedia (ITEAM). Su investigación está actualmente centrada en el diseño de novedosos componentes de microondas en guía de onda. | |||

I completed BE Telecom Engineering from National University of Science & Technology, Pakistan in the year 2009. In my final year, I worked on an indigenous design and hardware implementation of a simple Optical Time Domain Reflectometer, capable of detecting the location of fault in an Optical Fibre. For the next five years, I gained experience as a professional in the booming Telecom Industry of Pakistan. I went on to pursue a masters in Photonic Networks on Erasmus Mundus scholarship from Scoula Superiore Santanna, Italy and Aston University, UK. I did my thesis on Graphene-integrated Photonic Modulators at Technische Universitat Berlin, Germany. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at Photonics Research Lab of Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. My research work focuses on innovative technologies based upon heterogeneous multi-core fibres. | |||
