iTEAM researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) Monika Drozdowska has been elected as the Early Career Representative of Commission F: Wave Propagation and Remote Sensing of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI).
The election took place during the XXXVI URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium, where Monika also presented the paper “Impact of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces on Indoor Propagation in the Millimetre-Wave Band”, co-authored with Sergio Micó-Rosa, Álvaro Villaescusa-Tebar and Prof. Narcís Cardona. The research, presented during a session focused on measurements and channel characterisation for millimetre-wave and terahertz (mmWave and THz) communications, aims to examine the impact of a commercially available reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) on indoor signal propagation in the 26–30 GHz band.
The work was funded by the COREMAT-6G projects (TSI-063000-2021-118, TSI-063000-2021-119 and TSI-063000-2021-120), part of the UNICO-5G R&D 2021 Programme, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU, with the support of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration of the Government of Spain.
