I am a research assistant (Ph.D. student) at the iTEAM Research Institute at Universitat Politècnica de València. As part of the Photonic Research Labs where I currently work full-time. My research is focused on free-space optics, specifically visible light communications for indoor environments. The research aims to design and implement a hybrid wired and wireless optical network in the visible spectrum for indoor communications and lighting.
I obtained a B.E. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (Ecuador) in 2018; during these years, I registered three national patents related to IoT. In 2020 I obtained an M.Sc. degree in telecommunication technologies, systems, and networks from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain.
I am also an assistant lecturer in the subject of optical communications as part of the telecommunications degree program at the same university.

In 2021, I obtained a BSc in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), followed by a MSc in Telecommunications, also at UPV. I worked as a research engineer at the Nanophotonic Technology Center, where I developed low-power, ultra-compact photonic switches for sustainable data centers, collaborating in a high-precision, multi-disciplinary environment. Currently, I work as a Packaging Engineer at the Photonics Research Labs.

In 2020 I obtained a BSc in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), and I have recently finished an MSc in Telecommunication Technologies, Systems and Network from the same university. I am currently working as a researcher in the Photonics Research Labs (PRL), at the iTEAM Research Institute, focusing on the field of integrated reconfigurable photonic circuits in microwave photonics filtering applications.

Monika Drozdowska received the B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees in radiocommunication from the Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT), Poland, in 2018 and 2019, respectively, and the PhD degree in telecommunications from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, in 2024. As a part of her PhD investigation, she was a fellow of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Actions Innovative Training Network (MSCA ITN) project WAVECOMBE. She is currently a researcher at the iTEAM Research Institute of the UPV. Her current research interests are focused on, but not limited to, mmWave propagation in the built environment, and channel modelling.
